Mongolia established diplomatic relations with Trinidad and Tobago on February 24, 2021 in New York in the framework of the goal of establishing diplomatic relations with all UN member states.
The two countries seek to develop friendly relations and cooperation in areas of mutual interest, and agreed to adhere to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the UN Charter and the principles and norms of international law. The Joint Statement on Diplomatic Relations was signed by V.Enkhbold, Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations, and Ordel Barman, Chargé d’Affaires of the Permanent Mission of Trinidad and Tobago to the United Nations.
The two sides noted that the establishment of diplomatic relations opens up more opportunities for mutual support and cooperation between the two countries and within international organizations.
